We are now in John 17 in our study of the Gospel of John. Martyn Lloyd-Jones has written a very profitable book on this chapter, a compilation of his sermons on it, and in one of those he simply says this:
“…we betray ourselves and our attitude by what we are in general…” (pg 213)
Very striking! The real me is on display in what I am in general - the normal patterns of my life. Not how I think of myself. Not how I represent myself on Facebook or other outward-facing platforms. What I am in general.
